greyrock is a family-owned, private investment company established by Peter and Yvette Mobbs in 2017 with the following mandate:

- Concentration of investments in the technology and education sectors where expertise is held

Peter Mobbs
Prior to establishing greyrock, Peter was an entrepreneur and executive operating within the private education industry, where he holds 15+ years’ experience across higher education, vocational and corporate training sectors.
Peter was the inaugural Group CEO of Scentia, Australia’s leading education and training provider with unrivalled student offerings across corporate solutions, open programs, vocational education and post-graduate higher education.
He was the co-founder of Ivy College, a multi award-winning specialist provider of nationally accredited training delivered in online and blended modes. Peter led the private equity backed merger of his company, Ivy College, with the education arm of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) – a 75 year old brand. Peter is a director and significant shareholder of the merged group – Scentia – and is a non-executive director of listed education company UCW Limited (ASX:UCW).
In previous roles, Peter was Director of Operations, Career Education within Study Group – a global education provider – and held the role of Managing Director, Martin College, also a Study Group business. In earlier years he established Australia’s leading private real estate education business, Agency Training Australia, which in 2006 was acquired by Kaplan Inc., a division of NYSE listed Graham Holdings Company (formerly The Washington Post Company).
Prior to entering the education sector Peter worked as a lawyer in both the UK and Australia. He holds degrees in commerce and law and is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of NSW. Peter is also a member of YPO (Sydney), the Law Society of NSW and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Yvette Mobbs
Before establishing greyrock, Yvette was a co-founder of multi award-winning Ivy College, a specialist in online and blended learning for adults. Prior to this Yvette was director of real estate education business Agency Training Australia until the business was acquired in 2006 by Kaplan Inc., a division of NYSE listed Graham Holdings Company (formerly The Washington Post Company). Following the acquisition, Yvette became Industry Segment Head for Real Estate at Kaplan and was responsible for new course development and market strategy.
Yvette’s prior roles focused on B2B and B2C technology marketing within Foxtel, AAPT and Philips in Australia and technology project management within British Telecom and Cancer Research UK in the United Kingdom.
Yvette holds a Bachelor of Business from UTS and is a part-time volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporter for Lifeline.
